The subject of an identification record may also submit a request through an FBI-approved channeler, which is a private business that has contracted with the FBI to receive fingerprint submissions and relevant data, collect the associated fee(s), electronically forward the fingerprint submissions with the necessary information to the FBI CJIS Division, and receive the electronic record check results for dissemination to the individual. See www.FBI.gov for the list of FBI-approved channelers.
There is a centralised criminal record system, there is only one centralised database where the final criminal conviction issued by a Slovak criminal court is registered. This database is in electronic form and is maintained a unit within the General Prosecutors office of the Slovak Republic. The relevant legislation for this is governed by the Act on Criminal Records.[87] As of 2008 there was a proposed bill that these criminal records could only be accessed by request to the General Prosecutors office when the person in question was up for a position which required a clean criminal record. Certain criminal records are not accessible at any time for instance the criminal record/record details of the President of the Republic of Slovakia are not available to anyone during his/her time in office.[88] The criminal records and persona details of everyone held by the General Prosecutors office are lifelong, and continue to be updated throughout their life, every time they move address/change name etc.
Since this is a premium service requiring a person to do work on your behalf, you should only request a court runner when you know the individual has a criminal record from a specific court or you strongly suspect they have a record and you want to confirm your suspicions. Otherwise, you risk paying a significant amount for nothing, as this service is usually non-refundable. It’s also worth noting that court runners only retrieve criminal records. This means you can’t have them run to the court for divorce records, civil court records, birth certificates or death records.
Secure Flight, operated by the Transportation Security Administration, screens United States airline passengers to see if they are on terrorism watch lists. Unlike the predecessors Computer Assisted Passenger Prescreening System (CAPPS) & CAPPS II, Secure Flight does not scan passengers for outstanding warrants nor does Secure Flight use computer algorithms to search for links to flagged terrorists.

When police take a person into custody, he or she is under arrest. The arrest can happen following an investigation or immediately after a crime is committed. Law enforcement agencies across the United States keep detailed arrest records that contain the criminal history of individuals who committed crimes. A document that details a person's history is called an Arrest Record, or a Criminal Record.

Judicial data on criminal offences are kept for 30 years after the criminal sentence has become irrevocable. Extensions can occur for non suspended prison sentences, mental hospital orders and youth detention. Data involving Minor offences are stored until five years after the irrevocable settlement of the case – extended to ten years if the individual was sentenced to prison or community service. Eighty years after the birth of the individual, all data is removed.[78]
In Ireland, criminal convictions remain on the criminal record system for life if the offence was committed after the individual turned 18, as there are currently no legislative provisions which provide for the expungement of criminal convictions. Ireland remains the only country in the EU and one of the only countries in the Council of Europe area to not have such legislation.[59]
Eviction records are considered public record and are typically included in a credit report, making it difficult to find an apartment or home if you’ve ever been evicted. If you have been evicted, Instant Checkmate recommends building up a list of references and looking for landlords and complexes that don’t require background or credit checks. The service also recommends reaching out to the landlord who evicted you to ask if they’d be willing to remove the eviction from your credit report if you pay any remaining past-due fees and rent.
An eviction occurs when a landlord provides a tenant with a legal notification to leave the property. Eviction laws vary by location and municipal codes, but typically, a tenant is evicted due to failure to correct a problem that violates the leasing agreement such as paying back-rent or meeting requirements stated in the lease. Unless you’re an at-will tenant (someone who lives on a property but does not have a lease), the landlord can’t evict you without initiating legal action.
