The Criminal History Records Section of the Arizona Department of Public Safety serves as the Central State Repository for criminal records in the State of Arizona (see Arizona Revised Statute §41-1750). The subject of a criminal record may review the information contained in the record for the SOLE PURPOSE OF REVIEWING THE ACCURACY AND COMPLETENESS OF THEIR RECORD.
The Bureau of Criminal Identification and Information manages and oversees the Automated Fingerprint Identification System. AFIS is a statewide, automated fingerprint identification system, which is integrated with mugshot and computerized criminal history (CCH) information. The goal of this system is to provide real time identification of individuals at the time of booking, resulting in timely updates to the state's CCH, mugshot and fingerprint databases. All of this is accomplished in a paperless environment. The Bureau of Criminal Identification and Information provides operational management and technical assistance to the users of the system in addition to ensuring system operational compliance and quality control.
If you know you have criminal convictions or arrests on your record, you should ask for a report from the court(s) where those charges were filed. Remember to check with county, state, and federal courts if applicable. And if you want files from a county court, plan to visit the courthouse. Most county courts require someone to obtain records in person.
We spent over 40 hours evaluating background check services. To test them, we searched for three people with names ranging from common to uncommon. After purchasing reports from each company, we checked them for accuracy. Based on our results, Intelius is the best background check company overall. It has some of the lowest prices we saw, and its reports include information about work history, addresses and criminal records. The reports are current and especially useful for finding email addresses, since it pulled results other background searches didn’t find.
A chapter 11 bankruptcy is filed when the individual or business wants to reorganize debt. This is most common with businesses, as it allows them to repay debts (under the supervision of a court) in such a way to allow the business to continue operating. It requires the business to develop a profitability plan, show cost cutting measures and show how they are increasing revenue. If an individual files a chapter 11, they are most likely an owner of a small business.

Finding people for free on LinkedIn requires you create your own profile, and it works best if you fill out your profile completely. In the My Network tab, the site recommends others' profiles based on your own profile – schools you've attended, industries you've worked in, companies you've worked for, mutual connections and interests. But you can also search for a specific person in the search bar, using the filter tool to narrow the results to as few people as possible.
Believe it or not, almost all of this information is public record by law, and is available to anyone who is willing to make the effort to search for it. Some jurisdictions make it incredibly simple, and have dedicated web portals that allow you to search. Others are stuck in the paper age, and often require an on site search in the county courthouse. This can be done by using a “court runner”, as well.
State criminal histories are maintained by government agencies, most often by law enforcement agencies.[1] In addition to statewide records, local police departments, sheriffs' offices, and specialty police agencies may maintain their own internal databases. Records are also maintained by state departments of correction, in relation to offenders who have been sentenced to prison or a similar disposition that falls under their jurisdiction. Law enforcement agencies often share criminal history information with other enforcement agencies, and criminal history information is normally also available to the public.[2]

Secure Flight, operated by the Transportation Security Administration, screens United States airline passengers to see if they are on terrorism watch lists. Unlike the predecessors Computer Assisted Passenger Prescreening System (CAPPS) & CAPPS II, Secure Flight does not scan passengers for outstanding warrants nor does Secure Flight use computer algorithms to search for links to flagged terrorists.

In January 2014, Swedish criminal records became available online with the launch of a new website Lexbase. People were able to search criminal records of their friends, colleagues and neighbours, showing the location of convicted criminals in the past 5 years in their neighbourhood by plotting red dots on the map. The user is able to then pay a fee to get more information about the crime committed.[95] Lexbase has become the subject of intense criticism from Swedish media, government and the general public, given its alleged infringement on the right to privacy and increased social alienation of offenders.[96]

In Belgium, there is a national central criminal record system which records, keeps and modifies data related to penal decisions. The criminal record system is maintained by the Federal Public Service Justice.[5] The criminal records held within the central system contain the following data: criminal record number; name, surname and given name; date and place of birth; gender; residence; profession; nationality; court; number of judges; degree of jurisdiction; reference, number and date of judgement; date of transmission to central criminal record; sentence pronounced, place and date of the criminal acts.[6] The central system contains records of
While there are many kinds of crimes that can show up on a person’s criminal background check, felonies are the most serious crimes. There are different degrees to a felony, with first degree being the most serious. These crimes typically include murder, aggravated or grand theft, rape and other violent crimes. To be charged with a felony, prosecutors have to get indictment from a grand jury. For it to show up on a background check report, the person either admitted guilt or was found guilty by a jury and required to serve prison time.

In the United States, any person, including a private investigator, criminal research or background check company, may go to a county courthouse and search an index of criminal records by name and date of birth or have a county clerk search for records on an individual. Such a search may produce information about criminal and non-criminal charges that do not otherwise appear on a state criminal history abstract.
For the formerly incarcerated, a criminal record is a barrier to reentering the workforce, making it much more difficult for ex-felons to rehabilitate into society. In an effort to increase employment opportunities and decrease recidivism rates, the federal government offers incentives to employers for hiring convicted felons through the Work Opportunity Tax Credit program.
Criminal history information is generally available to the public, and criminal history information for a specific state can typically be obtained from the state agency that maintains the record. States normally charge a fee for a copy of a person's criminal history. Private individuals can typically obtain copies of their own records, but may need a release in order to obtain the record of another person.
Arrests for felonies, misdemeanors, and both criminal and civil charges are included in the Arrest Record. They may also contain pending warrants, fines, or monetary restitution for an arrest or conviction, and charges that have been dismissed or for which the individual was acquitted. If an arrest led to a conviction, the Arrest Record may list the sentence and any incarceration. An Arrest Record will also show if an individual is on the sex offender registry.
Criminal records are not purged regardless of time or seriousness of the case.[49] However, under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Ordinance (HK Laws. Chap 297), a criminal record is considered 'spent' if it was the first criminal offence, sentenced to less than 3 months in jail or fined less than $10,000 and a period of 3 years has elapsed since conviction and no new conviction is registered against the said person.[50] Spent records are recorded as such with the exception to:

In accordance with Latvian law, most criminal records are terminated after several years. The amount of time for this to occur is dependent on the nature and scope of the legal sanction for that crime. These cancelled records are still held in Information Centre records, and are readily available if the individual involved authorises the disclosure of the entire record.[65]

Work history is another good data point to use to find someone you’ve lost track of. It can also be helpful if you need to reconstruct your own work history as you write your resume. BeenVerified reports have accurate information, though is some cases you may have to purchase add-ons – for example, if you want information about property or other legal matters. You need to pay for a subscription to get background checks. This costs around $27 a month, and you pay an additional $2.99 to download the report.

Arrest records are official public records, completed by law enforcement agencies, when a person is placed under arrest. An arrest occurs when someone is seized and taken into custody. Local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies all maintain arrest records, and the agency responsible for reporting the arrest is the agency that actually made the arrest. The responsible agency will be determined by a number of factors including jurisdiction and the crime charged. While law enforcement agencies are responsible for reporting, arrest records may also be available from state and federal courts. Federal agencies with the power to arrest include: FBI, ATF, and DEA agencies, as well as any other federal agency given police power from the DHS to the DOE. Most states have at least one state-level law enforcement agency, and many have multiple law enforcement agencies. These agencies usually include some type of highway patrol and game wardens in addition to other state-specific agencies. Local police may include county or municipal law enforcement agencies, and are responsible for the vast majority of arrests.

Pre-employment screening refers to the process of investigating the backgrounds of potential employees and is commonly used to verify the accuracy of an applicant's claims as well as to discover any possible criminal history, workers compensation claims, or employer sanctions. For example, CBC News of Canada reported that fraud in the workplace cost Canadian Businesses over $3.2 Billion in 2011.[6]
